Description

Founded in 1969, Mi Cafecito is home to a farming collective of 140 small coffee growers. Their process is organic and fair trade and the tour supports the local farming community. Learn about the rich history of gourmet Costa Rican coffee production and the work of local cooperatives to harvest high quality Arábica coffee. You will hear about the entire growth process and see the collective’s production as you tour the plantation and mill to see how coffee is processed from the seeds to the cup.

In addition to learning about coffee, you will experience the regions abundant bio-diversity on a walk through pristine virgin forest with stunning views of the Sarapiquí gorge and an incredible waterfall. You will also get to watch as the guides press fresh sugar cane juice for you to drink during a halfway rest point.

The tour concludes in the Mi Cafecito restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious lunch and learn how to prepare, and more notably taste, coffee in the traditional Costa Rican way.

Without transportation and with coffee and appetizer after the tour, $40
